Announcing Ascend’s 414 College Ministry Faith & Fellowship Mixer at NCCU
College years are often marked by growth, independence, and change. Many students are learning to manage new responsibilities while also reflecting more deeply on who they are and what they believe. We’re excited to introduce the 414 College Ministry, a new ministry of Ascend Worship Church, and to invite students to our first gathering, the Faith & Fellowship Mixer, taking place Saturday, February 21, from 3:00–5:00 PM on the campus of North Carolina Central University at their student center in room #2127.
College is often a time when faith becomes personal. Away from familiar routines, students begin making choices for themselves, about values, priorities, and direction. Scripture speaks to the importance of support during times of growth and transition: “Plans succeed with good counsel.” — Proverbs 20:18
The 414 College Ministry exists to provide space for conversation, learning, and support without pressure or expectations. It is not about having everything figured out, but about creating room for honest discussion and shared understanding grounded in Scripture.
Faith during college does not always look like neatly planned devotionals or consistent routines. Sometimes it looks like honest conversations, shared meals, and asking difficult questions together. Jesus often taught in everyday settings, homes, hillsides, and around tables. These moments created room for transformation.
The Bible affirms that God meets people where they are. Matthew 18:20 reminds us, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” This event is about creating a space where God’s presence can be experienced through fellowship, discussion, and Scripture.
The Faith & Fellowship Mixer is open to students from all backgrounds and faith experiences. Whether you have attended church your whole life or are simply exploring faith, you are welcome. God invites us to come as we are. Romans 15:7 reminds us, “Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you.”
College can be a season of self-discovery and spiritual questioning. This gathering is meant to be a safe place to explore faith without pressure or expectation. Community grows when people are free to be honest and present.
