About Our Pastor

Darrell Williams is a husband, father and the senior pastor of Ascend Worship Church which in just a few years has become a thriving Christ-centered, innovative ministry in the Raleigh-Durham area.  Pastor Williams has a vision to see Ascend continue growing as a multifaceted, multigenerational, multicultural and multiplying family of God building one another up in faith, love and hope in Jesus Christ. 

Pastor Williams received a Bachelor's of Business Administration from North Carolina Central University and a Master's in Christian Doctrine and History from Regent University. He has worked professionally in State government as an Assistant State Auditor and Executive Business Director in higher education.

He and his wife, Donna have served in significant capacities in the local church for over 25 years. Together, they founded Youth Harvest Inc. in 2013 as an evangelism ministry to reach communities with the Gospel. With a committed team of leaders working with them, they hosted 17 outreach events impacting approximately 3,600 people in eight cities with over 400 young people and adults accepting Jesus Christ. In addition to evangelism, Pastor Williams has raised scholarship funds for deserving graduates and led various humanitarian missions for the homeless, hungry and victims of natural disasters.

Pastor Williams serves as a ministry coach for pastors and leaders equipping them with tools to help the local church be even more effective in the 21st Century. He has also traveled to many countries to promote the Kingdom of God including England, Haiti, China, Africa, Peru, Brazil, Guatemala and Japan.
